How to export your KuCoin transaction history for your crypto tax report

If you used KuCoin, you export your history from the Export feature in the Order Center on the KuCoin website. You choose one data type at a time, such as spot orders, convert orders or deposit and withdrawal records, and each export covers up to one year. For a tax report you’ll usually want your filled spot orders, any convert orders and your deposits and withdrawals, for every year you used the account.

How to export your KuCoin history

  1. 1

Open the Order Center on the website

Sign in on the KuCoin website and open the Order Center. KuCoin documents the export for the website.

  2. 2

    Start an export

Click Export. Choose the data type (for example spot orders, convert orders, or deposit and withdrawal records), the market, the time range and the time zone, then click Confirm. Choose UTC as the time zone if it’s offered, and CSV or XLSX as the format (not PDF).

  3. 3

Repeat for each data type and year

Each export covers at most one year and one data type, so repeat the export for every type you need and every year you used KuCoin. KuCoin allows 20 exports per month, so plan the list before you start.

  4. 4

    Wait for the notification

KuCoin tells you by SMS, email or an on-site notification when an export is ready.

  5. 5

    Download from Recent Exports

Go to Orders → Export → Recent Exports and download each file. Download links stay valid for 30 days.

  6. 6

    Import all files together

Drop every file into the crypto tax calculator at once. Each type is detected separately and overlapping rows are flagged as duplicates.

These steps follow KuCoin’s own help pages as checked on 7 October 2026. Exchanges rename menus often, so if something looks different, use the help link below and look for the full transaction history export. Wrong or out of date? Tell us at errors@cryptotaxowl.com.

What the columns mean

Column names as seen in open-source importers; KuCoin’s help article lists the data types but not the columns. KuCoin has changed its export layouts several times, and some versions add or reorder columns. Check the header row of your own files.

ColumnWhat it means
UIDYour KuCoin user ID. Not used in the calculation.
Account TypeWhich KuCoin account the row belongs to, such as the trading or funding account.
Order IDKuCoin’s identifier for the order (spot orders file).
SymbolThe trading pair, for example BTC-USDT.
SideBUY or SELL: whether you bought or sold the first asset in the pair.
Order TypeMarket, limit and so on. Not needed for tax.
Avg. Filled PriceThe average price you got, in the second asset of the pair.
Filled AmountHow much of the first asset was bought or sold.
Filled VolumeThe total in the second asset (the quote currency) of the pair.
Filled Volume (USDT)KuCoin’s USDT equivalent of the fill. It’s a stablecoin figure, not a fiat value.
Filled Time(UTC…)When the order filled. The header includes the time zone you chose, for example Filled Time(UTC).
Fee / Fee CurrencyThe trading fee and the asset it was charged in.
Maker/TakerWhether the fill added or took liquidity. Not needed for tax.
CoinThe asset deposited or withdrawn (deposit and withdrawal files).
Amount / FeeThe quantity moved and the network or withdrawal fee (deposit and withdrawal files).
HashThe blockchain transaction hash, when present. Helps match transfers to your own wallets.
Transfer Network / Status / RemarksThe network used, whether the transfer succeeded, and any note.

Quirks to know

  • Time zone in the header. The time column name includes the zone you picked, such as Time(UTC+08:00). CryptoTaxOwl uses that offset when converting times, but choosing UTC avoids any doubt.
  • Filled orders only. KuCoin includes only filled or partially filled orders, which is what you want for tax.
  • Converts are separate. Quick swaps made with KuCoin’s convert feature are a different data type. If you used it, export convert orders too, or those trades will be missing.
  • Several files. Trades, deposits and withdrawals arrive in different files with different columns.
  • Long histories. KuCoin says data is available from 16 September 2017. If an older period doesn’t appear in the export, check with KuCoin support what is available.

How CryptoTaxOwl reads these files

Each KuCoin file is recognised by its header fingerprint and handled by the parser for that data type.

  • Spot order rows become trades: Side tells which asset you received, Filled Amount and Filled Volume give the two legs, and the fee is attached.
  • Values from the file are used first. A trade against a fiat currency is valued by its fiat leg; otherwise the other leg or the bundled daily prices are used. Filled Volume (USDT) is not treated as a fiat value, because USDT is a crypto asset.
  • Deposits and withdrawals become transfer candidates. A deposit with no matching withdrawal shows a missing cost basis issue so you can say what it was.
  • Any type the parser doesn’t know becomes an “Unknown type” issue for you to resolve. It is never quietly treated as taxable or non-taxable.

The files are read in your browser and never uploaded. CryptoTaxOwl never asks for API keys, recovery phrases or passwords.

To pair KuCoin withdrawals with your other wallets, see transfers between your own wallets.

Known issues and gaps

  • Margin and futures. Margin orders and futures profit and loss are flagged as unsupported and excluded by default. Derivatives profit and loss is out of scope in this version.
  • Earn rewards. Earnings exports may need their rows classified as income through the issues queue.
  • Missing cost basis. Crypto bought elsewhere and sent to KuCoin arrives without its purchase cost unless you import that source too.
  • Sub-accounts. If you used sub-accounts, check whether the export lets you include sub-account data, so transfers between your accounts can be matched.

If your file isn’t recognised

If a KuCoin file isn’t recognised, perhaps because the layout changed:

KuCoin export: frequently asked questions

Can I export my KuCoin history from the app?

KuCoin documents the export for its website. Sign in on a computer and use Export in the Order Center.

Which data types do I need?

Spot orders, convert orders if you used them, and deposit and withdrawal records, for every year you used KuCoin. Add earn records if you received rewards.

Should I choose CSV, XLSX or PDF?

Choose CSV or XLSX. Both can be imported. PDF can’t be read as a list of transactions.

I ran out of exports this month. What now?

KuCoin allows 20 exports per user per month. Prioritise spot orders and deposits and withdrawals, then export the rest when your allowance resets. Import all the files together once you have them; overlapping rows are flagged as duplicates.

Is the USDT value in the file used as the fiat value?

No. USDT is a crypto asset, so CryptoTaxOwl values the trade from a fiat leg if there is one, otherwise from the bundled daily prices.
