How to export your transaction history from each exchange
A tax report is only as complete as the files behind it. These pages show where each exchange keeps its full history export, which file to choose, and what its columns mean.

Before you export
- Export everything, not just this year. Your cost comes from when you bought, which may be years ago. Choose the earliest start date the exchange allows.
- Export every account. Coins you moved in from another exchange or wallet arrive without a cost unless that account’s history is imported too. See the transfers guide.
- Choose CSV or XLSX, not PDF. PDF statements are for reading; the calculators need the data files.
- Never share API keys or recovery phrases. CryptoTaxOwl only reads files you download yourself, and will never ask for keys, passwords or a recovery phrase.
Once you have your files, the CSV converter merges them into one standard file, or go straight to the crypto tax calculator.
